The Lorem Ipsum treasure hunt

What is Lorem Ipsum

“Lorem Ipsum” is dummy text used by the print and web industry as a placeholder for real content. The goal of Lorem Ipsum is to prevent the reader from getting distracted by the readable content of a page when they should be looking at its layout. See some randomly generated text here

How the Hunt Works

Because “Lorem Ipsum” text is so often used as placeholder text we can use it to hunt for random content/urls that are freshly indexed by google.

This is what i found in my search

Lorem Ipsum search

How to Hunt

  1. Type in “Lorem Ipsum” in your Google search
  2. Press the “Search Tools” underneath the Google search box
    Step 2
  3. Select the “Any time” dropdown and change it to “Past hour”
  4. You should now see the latest “Lorem Ipsum” content that Google has found.
  5. Happy hunting

In my experience by the time you go to the page the “Lorem Ipsum” page the content has already been replaced by actual content articles.

Lorem Ipsum was first used +- 500 years ago by an unknown printer for the placeholder text, the same as we are using it today.

Here is a recent website project of mine commissioned by my Johan Vosloo. For the goal was to keep the focus on images and not on traditional text content. I proud of the way if came out. View the site here and leave comments below if you have any suggestions.
